Meet Our Pastor...

Pastor Tim
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. During the early years of my life, my family
was Catholic. I accepted the Lord as my Savior when I was ten and was baptized in
the Holy Spirit when I was twelve.
In 1978 I went to Central Bible College. That is where I met my wife and best friend,
Jan. From 1989 to 1992 I attended the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. I
graduated June 5, 1992 with a Master of Divinity in Christian Education and Biblical
Languages.
Jan and I have had the privilege of being senior pastors of two other churches prior to
coming to Ocala. We were in youth ministry in the 1980's.
In January of 2005 we became pastors of Marion Oaks Assembly of God here in
Ocala, Florida. This exciting congregation of multi-cultural background is a joy to
pastor.
On a personal note, I love to read, I enjoy graphic design, video editing, and, most of
all, spending time with my family. Misty, our oldest daughter, is married to Travis
Townsley and they have two precious girls that we love to spoil. Bethany (age 4)
and Olivia (almost 3). Bethany and Olivia will have a new sister in January.
Our youngest daughter Bethany (Beth) lives in Phoenix, AZ.

Starting a Greeter Program
Four years ago I accepted the challenge of evangelism chairperson for our church. One of the first programs the pastor and I developed was the Sunday morning greeter program. -
Motivating the Right Person into the Right Ministry
One of the greatest challenges for most leaders is selecting and motivating the right people into the right ministry positions in hopes of minimizing turnover and frustration. Even in the smaller church with limited personnel, it is important to coordinate people and ministry as much as possible. -
“I TRIED, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME”
“I tried, but no one ever called me” are painful words for a leader who has much work to do and not enough people willing to do it. These words are painful for the person who wanted to contribute, but was never called. These are also painful words for a person who is committed to helping people connect and contribute in meaningful ways within the church.
